Just going along in life and searching for the will of God…

Are You Like the Five Wise Virgins?

Are You Like the Five Wise Virgins?

or, are you one of the foolish ones?

Ten Virgins Five Wise Five Foolish

You know, I don’t like to put dates on the Lord’s return but all that is happening in Europe, the Middle East (the 10-40 window), Africa, Russia, China, North Korea, the United States, and all over the world are rather strange to me, some might think that they are even scary. But in Matthew 24:36, Jesus himself said that we will not know the day or hour of the Father’s return but the season is coming. Because in the next chapter, Matthew 25:13, it tells us to, “Watch therefore”. We are not like sheep led to slaughter because that will happen to anyone that has no clue what this world is going through.

That makes me want to read the chapter, Matthew 25:1-13. It tells about the ten virgins. There were five wise and five foolish virgins. The wise virgins had already prepared their lamps to burn with oil that they purchased, and the five foolish virgins were going to buy some oil when it was time for the wedding the virgins were going to be part of but, the foolish just didn’t have the time to do that.

All ten virgins got tired of waiting for the bridegroom and fell asleep. The bridegroom took an extremely long time to come to the marriage supper, he didn’t show up until the midnight hour.

It turns out, with the five wise virgins having just enough oil for their lamps when the five foolish asked for some oil as the bridegroom came, they said go buy some for yourselves. So, the foolish went to go buy some oil and when they had gone, the bridegroom came unto the wise virgins and took them into his room and locked the door.

The moral of this story for the blood-bought Christian is, that we should all be ready for Christ’s return no matter what and that is by having the oil, the Holy Ghost living through us. The foolish virgins are like a lot of the people, who claim Christianity, and say, “No one knows the day or hour of Christ’s return so, I will just live how I want to”. While the foolish claim they are born again Christians, that don’t even attend their local church, or read their Bible, or listen to the online messages for the edification of God’s Word. Some people seem to hope that Christ’s return is a figment of the imagination, they don’t possess the oil, the Holy Spirit, in another word, Salvation.

The Bible tells us in 1 Thessalonians 5:1-7, that the true believer will know something is going on in this world before his return. A follower of Christ is supposed to be as wise as serpents and harmless as doves, Matthew 10:16. Since coming to the Lord at thirteen years old, I have been a true follower. I know that the signs are happening faster than I could ever type. Faster than I could ever tell a man to wake up.

In the previously posted YouTube video below, what got my attention was the frequent use of 1 Thessalonians 5:1. Yes, we do not know the exact time that the Lord will return but, we who put things together can see him returning very, very soon! I can see all of the different things that are happening in this world today, through a number of different credible sources on the internet and come to the conclusion that we should look to God for everything.

For the people who haven’t yet fully trusted Christ, you had better get your life settled in his Blessed hands.

Look to the Lord Jesus Christ before he comes again.

Do You Know Jesus as Your Saviour

Why should you worry about your eternity? What differences does it make now? Does it make a difference? Absolutely! One’s eternal destiny depends upon the decision one will make while alive. When Jesus Christ, the Son of God, was speaking with Nicodemus, He told him that “Ye must be born again”, John 3:7.

Why does a person have to be born again? Simply because of everyone’s sin, we have violated the commandments of the Lord. The Apostle Paul wrote to the Romans, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God”, Romans 3:23. This means that no one can live up to the standard that God has established, which is sinless perfection. Therefore, since we have all sinned, we all are under the penalty of our sins. “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord”, Romans 6:23. Therefore, we need salvation or to be saved.

God, with His infinite mercy and love, has provided a way of salvation through Jesus Christ. He did this because He loves you and me. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life”, John 3:16.

Jesus Christ, God in the flesh, took our place on the cross of Calvary. He bore our sins. He died in our place so we might have the opportunity to accept Him as our Saviour and receive that free gift of salvation. Sin has a penalty and that penalty is death. Jesus paid the penalty for us. “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us”, Romans 5:8.

Since we are sinners and Christ gave Himself for us on Calvary’s cross, what must one do to be saved? The Philippian jailer asked Paul, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”, Acts 16:30-31. Paul replied, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved…

So, what must you do to receive Christ as your Saviour?

  • First, you must admit that you are a sinner and need to be saved.
  • Second, you must repent and be willing to turn from your sin.
  • Third, you must believe that Jesus Christ bled & died for you on the cross.
  • Fourth, you must receive through prayer, Jesus Christ into your heart and life.

“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me”, Revelation 3:20.

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved”, Romans 10:9.

“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved”, Romans 10:13.

If God is knocking on the door of your heart, then answer the door and let Him come in. You can receive Christ through prayer. Here is a simple prayer of salvation.

“Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner. I know that I need you. I believe that you died on the cross for me. Forgive me of my sins. Right now, I turn from my sins and open the door of my heart and life to you. I receive you as my Saviour, come into my life and save me. Thank you for what you did for me. In Jesus name, Amen.”

It is not just reciting a prayer that saves a person but believing in your heart, having faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and confessing with your mouth. For by faith (trusting) in Jesus for your salvation.

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast”, Ephesians 2:8-9.

Now, you need to trust His Word when Jesus said, “I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture”, John 10:9.
