Are the People of America Finished Listening to God?
I have been trying to hold out for a glimmer of hope, but I read these two articles, and it is just being dashed to pieces.
Southern Baptists Embrace Gender-Inclusive Language in the Bible & Same-Sex Married Couple to Lead Historic Baptist Church
These two articles were written within the past week and I would say that I am a bit dumbfounded by the arrogance of these so-called Baptist. I thought when there was Baptist in your church’s name it meant something? With all of the news that is coming out in the convergence now, the name of a church does not seem to matter anymore. America was thought to be the new land that God was going to bless the people that would follow him. Well, that seems to be in our past now and I don’t think that is the case anymore.
I am reading and studying the book of Jeremiah right now, and wouldn’t you know it, the Word of God is a mirror for me. In Jeremiah 26, Jeremiah comes with a very simple request from God. The Lord had told him to tell the Israelites this,
“And thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord; If ye will not hearken to me, to walk in my law, which I have set before you, To hearken to the words of my servants the prophets, whom I sent unto you, both rising up early, and sending them, but ye have not hearkened; Then will I make this house like Shiloh, and will make this city a curse to all the nations of the earth.”
All God wanted is for the children of Israel to listen to him and do what he says through his prophet Jeremiah. Those aren’t very hard command’s, but the so-called prophets of the Israelites start wanting to kill Jeremiah. Then one of the elders of Israel has them hold back on their rage and he then tells them all that the LORD had done in the past when Micah was around. (You can go to the book of Micah and read what God had said to him.)
Then the so-called prophets just tell stories to Jeremiah in the next few chapters, and Jeremiah just tells them what the LORD has told him to say.
In, Jeremiah 28:15-17…
“The Lord hath not sent thee; but thou makest this people to trust in a lie. Therefore thus saith the Lord; Behold, I will cast thee from off the face of the earth: this year thou shalt die, because thou hast taught rebellion against the Lord. So Hananiah the prophet died the same year in the seventh month.”
In, Jeremiah 29:31-32…
“Because that Shemaiah hath prophesied unto you, and I sent him not, and he caused you to trust in a lie: Therefore thus saith the Lord; Behold, I will punish Shemaiah the Nehelamite, and his seed: he shall not have a man to dwell among this people; neither shall he behold the good that I will do for my people, saith the Lord; because he hath taught rebellion against the Lord.”
Are the people of America finished listening to God? I know that I have been trying to hold out for a glimmer of hope, but I read these two articles, and it is just being dashed to pieces. If the true believers in America don’t start calling sin, SIN, we as a country will never get back in the Grace of God. If we as true believers, don’t start repenting of the unrighteousness that is in own lives, right in front of our faces, we will never see the true blessings that God could have given us. Whether it be sins of omission or commission, it is still sin. That is why it is important to read and study the Word of God daily so, that you can see what is sin in your own life.
In 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, all of the things that I have done throughout my life, that were and are unrighteousness, I don’t want to be or live that way anymore. I am sure that there are a lot of believers, that are trying to listen for the Holy Spirit’s guidance in their own lives and have just messed up. But, God who is rich in mercy won’t always be so kind to his children, trust me I know. But, whatever God does in your life, he will always make you strong enough to bear it. If I could go back in time, and talk with the pastors that were over the churches of America, could they see the lack of everything that Christians are supposed to do coming? I don’t know if there is anything that anyone could have done for others but, I do know this, I can do things in my own life to get back into the Will of our Father. Starting with reading & studying my Bible daily, praying without ceasing, and following the Will of God even when I can’t see where that is going to take me. I believe that is an area that today’s Christians have let God down.
I believe that all of these areas mentioned areas that today’s Christians have let God down in. I could go on with this but, I will stop here, and let me know how everything is coming across by email or by committing below.
